Mounted Gendarmerie Officers at an Outdoor Market

Two uniformed Gendarmerie officers on horseback patrol a bustling outdoor market. The officer in the foreground is on the right, facing away from the viewer, with their horse's head and neck filling the lower right corner. The second officer is on the left, closer to the center, facing left in profile. Both wear blue shirts, black helmets, dark vests with "GENDARMERIE GARDE RÉPUBLICAINE" text, and blue pants tucked into black boots. The horses are brown with dark manes and tails. The background depicts market stalls with white awnings, various shoppers, and produce displays, suggesting a lively daytime scene. The perspective is from a low, slightly elevated viewpoint, looking down and across the scene. Natural daylight illuminates the scene, creating a slightly desaturated, realistic atmosphere. The focus is on the officers and their mounts, with the market providing a lively, contextual backdrop.
