PicLumen Community Guidelines & Featuring Rules

At PicLumen, we are committed to building a community that is fair, transparent, and encouraging of all forms of creativity. To help our creators understand how the platform works, we have outlined these rules regarding what can be published, what gets recommended, and how we ensure distribution fairness.

1. Prohibited Content (The "Red Lines")

To maintain a safe and healthy environment, the following content is strictly prohibited. Such content will not be displayed and may be deleted:

  • Illegal & Extreme Content: Any content involving child sexual abuse material (CSAM), terrorism, extreme violence, promotion of genocide, or detailed instructions for criminal methods.
  • Infringement & Misappropriation: Unauthorized use of real persons' likenesses for misleading, defamatory, or pornographic purposes; direct copying of copyrighted characters/scenes while claiming originality; and plagiarism of other creators' work.
  • Explicit & Suggestive Content: Explicit sexual acts, close-ups of genitals, and any sexualization involving minors or "minor-like" characters.
  • Deceptive & Harmful Information: Fake news, disaster hoaxes, scams, or "AI Deepfake" verification content that may cause public panic.
  • Hate & Discrimination: Content that attacks individuals or groups based on race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation.
  • Safety Risks: Content encouraging or detailing self-harm, suicide, or dangerous real-life imitations.

2. Publishing vs. Featuring

While many types of content are allowed to be published, not everything will be promoted to the Featured or Trends feeds.

  • Allowed but Not Recommended: Pure generation tests, unfinished works, mass-produced or highly repetitive content, and images with severe AI artifacts (e.g., distorted limbs/faces) or low resolution.
  • Baseline Requirements for Featuring: To be considered for the "Featured" pool, your work must be high-resolution (no blur), structurally sound (no typical AI defects like extra limbs), well-composed, and free of high-risk content.

3. What We Look For (Bonus Points)

We are more likely to recommend works that demonstrate excellence in the following areas:

  • Aesthetics & Artistry: A clear and unique style, intentional use of lighting and composition, and a color palette that conveys emotion or a story.
  • Creativity & Concept: Novel ideas, a sense of narrative or world-building, and clever expressions of themes or cultures.
  • Technical Depth: Fine control over details, organization of complex scenes, or the inclusion of valuable prompts and workflows.
  • Resonance & Value: Content that triggers emotional resonance or reflects important social and humanistic issues.

4. Our Commitment to Fairness

To ensure that every creator has a chance to be discovered, we implement the following mechanisms:

  • Rotation Mechanism: Featured content is updated regularly rather than staying fixed, allowing fresh work to take the spotlight.
  • Newcomer Exposure Pool: Every featured cycle includes a dedicated portion of works from new creators to help them grow.
  • Community Peer Review (Beta): We are gradually opening up the review process to include feedback from certified community creators.

5. FAQ: "Why wasn't I featured?"

If your work was not selected, it may still be a high-quality piece. However, "Featured" is a relative competition mechanism. We encourage you to keep creating, experiment with new styles, and learn from other successful works in the community.

6. Appeals & Feedback

If you have questions about a specific featuring result, you can submit an inquiry via our Appeals Portal with the following information:

  • A link to your work.
  • Your specific question (e.g., regarding structure, aesthetics, or distribution fairness).

We aim to provide a standardized explanation within48 hours.

PicLumen aims to be a community that respects creativity, effort, and every single user.
