Mann steht neben U‑Boot auf einem ruhigen Holzdock

A man of Caucasian ethnicity, appearing to be in his late 20s to early 30s, stands with his hands on his hips, leaning slightly against the stern of a dark, cylindrical submarine. He wears a collared shirt, dark trousers, and a brimmed hat. His facial features are indistinct due to the drawing style, but his posture suggests confidence. The submarine is resting on a wooden dock, partially submerged in water, with a large propeller at its rear. The scene is rendered in a sketch-like, monochrome style, possibly a watercolor or charcoal drawing from the early 20th century, indicated by a signature and date reading "H.G. Skerritt 1902" in the lower left. The background depicts a calm body of water with a distant sailboat on the left and a hazy horizon. The lighting is soft and diffused, casting subtle shadows from the submarine and the man onto the dock. The perspective is low-angle, emphasizing the scale of the submarine. The overall atmosphere is historical and observational, capturing a moment of technological display or preparation.
