Une créature des marais nous regarde depuis les eaux sombres

Drawing. Black and white graphite pencil and charcoal on textured paper, ultra-detailed, realistic graphite, patterns, sketches, ultra-realistic, extreme low-key lighting, almost total darkness, dramatic chiaroscuro, deep shadows, visible pencil strokes, cross-hatching, paper grain. Scene: A swamp creature — a woman — is seen from behind, medium shot, half-submerged in dark, murky water. The viewer is hidden behind dense foliage and tall reeds in the foreground, secretly observing her. Her silhouette is female — soft curves, a slender back, a long neck — but she is not human. Her eyes are huge, bulging, alien, set wide apart. Her skin is textured, dirty, covered in wet algae, moss, and slime. Her long, matted, wet fur is mixed with roots and weeds. Her ears are pointed, like fins. Her fingers are webbed, ending in claws. She looks over her left shoulder directly at the viewer. One webbed hand rests on the surface of the water. The background is a misty forest with mossy fallen logs. The atmosphere is dark, eerie, and suffocating. Lighting: The only light comes from a single weak beam breaking through the canopy, falling only on her face, her shoulder, her webbed hand, and the water around her. Deep shadows fall across her body — almost black, with a faint cold undertone, carving out her spine, her shoulder blades, her neck. Everything else — the swamp, the reeds, the mossy logs, the shadows — dissolves into deep darkness. Mist rises from the water. Fireflies float in the air. Mood: Ancient, eerie, and quietly terrifying — a creature of the swamp, watching you.
