I used to suffer from thoughts I wrought, Insanity battled, with cruelty I fought. Proud of the good, ashamed of the wrong, Yet each had a cause that carried along. Good or bad, they’re shadows the same, All just arise in the mind I claim. Without intent they come, then go, Like drifting clouds when soft winds blow. They come and pass like ripples wide, And leave no trace as waves subside. Like morning mist at break of day, In stillness, gently fade away.
