Ein mittelalterlicher Wandteppich mit gesticktem Wappen

A depiction of a wide wall tapestry crafted from raw silk. At the center of the composition lies a medieval heraldic coat of arms, surrounded by a textured white fabric. The entire image and its ornate border are characterized by raised embroidery techniques, accented with tiny metal and glass beads worked in among the prominent threads. Shades of ivory, green, brown, gray, and black—combined with intricate details and soft, diffused light—create an elegant, richly embellished tapestry depicting a scene from medieval life. A dark-haired, gallant knight—dressed in medieval hunting attire, a hunting hat, and a brown cloak—rides his majestic white horse along an uneven forest path. In one hand, he holds out a piece of bread, looking down toward an alert little dog running alongside him. The scene unfolds in an enchanted, slightly somber landscape, where ominous dark clouds gather in the sky. On the left, partially concealed behind rocks and gnarled tree roots, sits a large, grayish-black werewolf with a lustrous coat; its gaze is fixed intently upon the knight and the dog. A dense forest, filled with ancient, knotted trees, surrounds the setting; the branches of some trees reach out far, covered in thick foliage. In the background, rolling green hills lead toward a distant, ruined castle perched atop a hill—its crumbling stone walls and towers already partially reclaimed by nature. The overall effect is one of mystery and adventure; the restrained, earth-toned color palette evokes a dramatic atmosphere, rich with the promise of adventure. The scene appears to be set at dusk, beneath a stormy sky. Along the black borders, intertwined ribbons in deep green and white wrap around winding, leafy vines embroidered with gold thread, while the composition is completed at the bottom by a fringe of jade-green, ivory, and gold silk.
