日差しに満ちた古い路地と日陰で眠る猫たち

The sun poured warm, bright light onto the ancient alleyway. Roofs creaked with heat, and sleepy cats hid in the shade, grumbling and narrowing their golden eyes. It seemed as if someone enormous and clumsy had simply poured all the summer's power into one place. Everything seemed ephemeral and unreal, there was a feeling that you were outside of time. Today was yesterday, what was happening now was what had been a thousand years ago, the feeling that this place, this alleyway, these cats, had always existed. And tomorrow everything here would be the same, yesterday and a thousand years later. Fluffy creatures, not fearing eternity, stretched out under the shade of hawthorn bushes, their whiskers fell off and crackling fell into eternity like stars. And you, maybe, are looking at them right now.
