The picture shows a large-scale art installation in the form of a huge human head lying on its side in the middle of a vast desert plain with flat white soil. The sky overhead is monotonous, grayish, merging with the horizon line.
The head structure is made of a multitude of superimposed wooden planks and fragments of light wood slabs that create a textured, mosaic-like surface. The face is turned up and to the side, the facial features are clearly expressed: high cheekbones, a brow arch and a half-closed eye with a detailed iris and pupil directed towards the horizon are discernible.
In the cheek area of the installation, directly under the cheekbone, there is a rectangular doorway leading inside the structure. In front of this entrance stands a full-length man with his back to the viewer. He is wearing a long dark raincoat that reaches almost to the ground, and dark shoes. His posture is static, he's heading for the open entrance to his head. The lighting in the picture is diffused, the shadows are soft, which emphasizes the texture of the wooden details and the scale of the building compared to the human figure.
