Odysseus is bound upright to the mast of a small black Greek ship crossing a silent dark sea. On both sides rise two enormous pale stone female heads carved directly into monumental cliffs, their closed eyes and expressionless faces towering over the ship like ancient forgotten gods. Tiny sailors bend over their oars below, reduced to dark silhouettes. A few thin ribbons of wind curve toward Odysseus, visually suggesting the Sirens' song without showing literal sound waves. The sea and sky merge into a vast field of deep midnight navy. The colossal faces are weathered limestone beige, the ship and sailors almost charcoal black, with one restrained dark-red sail as the only warm accent.
