I cast my gold into a hollow well, To break the quiet of this lonely spell. I wanted crowns and safety for my head, I hungered for the words that went unsaid. I called it kindness but I sought the prize, Of seeing love reflected in their eyes. I thought myself a monster for the greed, Of wanting flowers from a planted seed. But even stars demand the night to shine, To want a return is a right divine. You are not 'terrible' for needing grace, Or seeking out a warm and steady place.
