A girl with a pearl earring framed by tropical foliage

Create a reimagining of Johannes Vermeer’s “Girl with a Pearl Earring” as though she had been painted by Paul Gauguin. Preserve the girl’s iconic pose, direct gaze, headscarf, and luminous pearl earring, while transforming the portrait through Gauguin’s Post-Impressionist style. Use bold, flattened areas of color, simplified forms, expressive outlines, and rich, unconventional hues. Replace Vermeer’s dark, minimal background with a lush, dreamlike setting inspired by tropical landscapes, featuring exotic foliage, warm sunlight, flowers, and decorative patterns. Give her clothing and headscarf vivid colors such as deep turquoise, coral, ochre, violet, and emerald green, while retaining the pearl as a luminous focal point. Blend Vermeer’s quiet intimacy and delicate facial expression with Gauguin’s symbolic, atmospheric approach, emphasizing flat perspective, decorative composition, and a sense of mystery. Painterly texture, vibrant color harmony, poetic and exotic mood, sophisticated museum-quality fine art.
