Renaissance portrait of a pale girl in a ruined garden

This is a formal, meticulously crafted, full-length Renaissance portrait of a woman in the Renaissance style, in three-quarter view. The composition uses traditional portrait techniques. A young girl of royal descent, tall, slender, graceful and thin for her age, with a delicately shaped, narrow nose. Her face is narrow, pale, with shadows under her eyes, and her eyes are red. Her white hands show pointed black nails. She sits on the edge of a ruined fountain basin in the abandoned garden of a Renaissance castle, weaving a wreath of dark blue flowers. Her long, unkempt black hair is worn partly in a halo braid, partly undone, which falls down her shoulders and back. On her forehead she wears a wreath of dark blue-purple belladonna flowers. Her outfit is an Italian Renaissance-style blue-black velvet overdress with long, slit, wide sleeves, a long, floor-length skirt and embroidered hem. Underneath the overdress, in the wide neckline, a red silk brocade dress is visible.
